Our Story

J.J. Kelly began back in 1995 when John Kelly decided to bring his passion and dedication for construction together. He served his time as a joiner and completed his training in 1980, following 15 years of experience during which he worked for himself he decided to start his own business.

Starting with just two employees, J.J. Kelly had one simple mission – to be a market leading provider of building and maintenance solutions within the Merseyside area.

Fast forward 28 years, the business now has 16 members of staff, working with local suppliers and contractors to offer comprehensive building solutions to both commercial and residential customers across the North West – from small repairs to full scale construction projects.

We cover a wide range of construction works for both businesses and households, which include general small repairs, kitchen and bathroom refurbishments, external works including windows, doors, fencing and paving, accessibility works, renovations and refurbishments, new build construction, and extensions.

The J.J. Kelly team is like a family, most of our staff have been with the business since day one. Our 16 operatives have more than 100 years of construction and building experience between them and can deliver the key skills needed to plan and complete all work, however large or small, on time and within budget.

It’s one of the reasons we have retained a loyal, customer base over two decades due to our first-class reputation. Our firm works with prestigious clients including Liverpool City Council, Liverpool Jewish Housing Association, Family Housing Association, Sefton Council, Liverpool YMCA Together, Whitechapel, Crete Hall Church, Hope Community Centre, and Port Sunlight Village Trust, to name just a few.

J.J. Kelly currently holds a number of accreditations including ISO 9001, ISO 18001, ISO 45001, Constructionline, Investors In People, FMB (Federation of Master Builders), Guild of Master Craftsmen, and UK Trades Confederation.

We deliver works across the whole of Merseyside and the North West, including Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton, Chester, Ellesmere Port, Helsby, Runcorn, Warrington, St Helens, Prescot, Widnes, North Wales and Southport.

Sustainability

J.J. Kelly is committed in reducing our carbon emissions to ensure we can reach net zero targets by 2040.

We do this by recycling all possible materials on construction sites, storing materials in our own storage areas across Merseyside so the team can re-use materials as opposed to throwing them out, these products are donated or utilised where possible.
